Additionally, almost all Orange County marriage books were filmed by the LDS Family History Library in 1972 and can be ordered through any Family History Center. Film numbers are given below.

In 1984, the Central Florida Genealogical Society published Dated Index to Marriages 1869-1899, Orange County, Florida, which is now out of print.  Marriages contained in that volume are included in this publication along with corrections, additional years and expanded information.  All records have been re-checked against original information.  Listing is alphabetical by surname of groom; every name is included in the index.

The earliest records contained only the names of bride and groom, date and place of license and marriage and the person performing the marriage.  Later records include more information — place of residence of bride and groom, name of minister or official performing marriage and sometimes witnesses to the marriage.

In this volume, we have included the residence [in brackets] of bride and groom, if given.  All towns listed are in Florida, unless stated otherwise.  Spellings of town names varied greatly throughout the volumes.  We have aimed for consistency, but in cases of doubt, names and towns are spelled as closely as possible to the original and noted with a "?".  Other information may be found on the Family History Library films which are on permanent loan at the Par Avenue Family History Center in Orlando or may be ordered through any Family History Center at a nominal cost.

Volume One of the Orange County Marriage Book included marriages from 1869-1899 and was divided into four parts; these are designated 1-1, 1-2, 1-3, 1-4 in this publication.  Volume 2 (1899-1909) and Volume 3 (1909 - 1915) followed these.  This publication includes all four parts of Marriage Book 1, all of Marriage Book 2 and Marriage Book 3 through December 31, 1909.
