General Meeting Will Be Held Thursday April 13 - Topic Will be British Isles Migration

“British Isles Migration to Colonial North America: An Overview," will be presented by Mark Swick. This meeting will be held at our new location in the LDS Church, 4020 S. Bumby Ave, Orlando, 32806. Mark is an excellent and knowledgable speaker and you wont want to miss this. You can find a map and direction here.

The meeting will be preceded by German Research Special Interest Group at 6:30 pm, followed by a question and answer session starting at 7 pm. Drawings are held for door prizes and the meetings are followed by snacks and a social time.

Pastfinders Members Sharing The Genealogical Journey

CFGS Presents Drew Smith on Organizing Your Genealogy Saturday May 13th

Drew SmithThe Central Florida Genealogical Society will present a seminar on Organizing Your Genealogy by Drew Smith of the Genealogy Guys. This seminar will be given on Saturday May 13th from 9:00 am until 4:30 pm at the Cultural Hall, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 45 E. Par, Orlando, FL 32804. This is the same building that the Family History Center is located in. Location Map

  • Organizing Your Genealogy Research Process
  • Using Evernote for Capturing Notes and Ideas
  • Organizing Your Genealogy Files and Correspondence
  • Organizing Your Research Trip

Cost will be $35 for CFGS Members, $40 for non members, $50 for couples (same address) and $45 at the day of the conference. Registration information will be available soon.

"Analyze Your DNA Results" with Diahan Southard will be held: Tuesday, April 4, 2017, 7:00 P.M. - 9:00 P.M. at the Central Florida Hillel Center for UCF Jewish Life, 3925 Lockwood Blvd, Oviedo, FL 32765. The workshop is FREE and open to the public. Bring your own laptop to participate in the lab portion. It is also possible to attend via the Internet.
